Practice News

Ever at the forefront of ophthalmology developments and technology, the doctors of Summit Eye Care of Wisconsin recently spoke to the Ophthalmologist about the many benefits the EVO Visian ICL provides their patients.

The EVO Visian ICL is an Implantable Collamer® Lens that can help patients greatly reduce or even eliminate their dependence on glasses and contact lenses. This bio-compatible, micro-thin lens is implanted in the eye to correct nearsightedness or astigmatism. Unlike other vision correction procedures like LASIK or PRK, the EVO Visian ICL is ideal for patients with thin corneas because it does not require the removal of any corneal tissue. The lens also protects the eye from UV damage, does not cause dry eye syndrome, and is removable and replaceable if the patient’s vision needs change.

Dr. Vukich says, “The lens has been an important part of my practice since the initial clinical investigations, and it is a great solution for many of my patients. The ICL has provided a dramatic improvement in quality of life for so many patients that I can’t imagine not offering that option.”

Speaking to the fact that the EVO Visian ICL is an ideal option for many patients who are not candidates for other vision correction procedures, Dr. Bruns says, “The outstanding global experience with ICLs has established that they are not only an excellent optical solution, but also a very safe option.”
