About Dr. Bruns
Milwaukee Optometrist, Dr. Nicholas J. Bruns joins Summit Eye with a solid background in pre- and post-operative care. Dr. Bruns previously worked in a high volume surgical practice in Michigan that specializes in cataracts, glaucoma, and laser vision correction. During his time there, he saw patients alongside ophthalmologists of different subspecialties caring for patients of all ages. Dr. Bruns routinely managed complex surgical cases while gaining familiarity with the latest advanced technology IOLs.
Dr. Bruns graduated with high academic honors from the Michigan College of Optometry. During his academic years, his clinical work focused on surgical management of ocular disease, primary care, and contact lenses. He completed his undergraduate work at Central Michigan University and graduated cum laude with a degree in biomedical science.
Dr. Bruns and his wife, Elyse, live in the greater Milwaukee area with their yellow lab, Oakley. They enjoy traveling, spending time outdoors, and visiting with family and friends.
