Cataract Surgery with the Light Adjustable Lens™ Implant

“Summit Eye Care was the right call to help me see all the action on game day.”

–Wayne Larrivee, Legendary Sportscaster and Play-by-Play Voice of Green Bay Football

As the play-by-play voice of  Green Bay Football, Wayne Larrivee is a key figure in the Wisconsin sports world. When his vision started to decline due to cataracts,, it began to affect his job.

“My job as a sports broadcaster requires that I be able to see, especially at a distance,” says Wayne. It doesn’t matter how much preparation you have or how good your voice is if you can’t see the number on the field: if you can’t see it, you can’t call it. As my vision began to slip, I was using glasses on top of glasses, and it just got too difficult to do my job.”

Wayne decided to undergo cataract surgery with the Light Adjustable Lens™ at Summit Eye Care, Milwaukee’s premier destination for advanced vision correction. The Light Adjustable Lens (LAL) is the only lens implant that can be adjusted after surgery so patients’ vision can be precisely fine-tuned to meet their specific needs. For Wayne, it was absolutely necessary to achieve both clear near vision and clear distance vision. Now, he can read stats and call plays from more than 100 yards from the field easily and confidently–no glasses needed!

Wayne says, “I would highly recommend Summit Eye Care. The doctors are tremendously professional. You can tell they care, and they’ll work with you to get the vision you need.”
